Thats a Wrap 2020

And thats a wrap 2020! Not sad to say goodbye to this year. If you want to go back and read, I have done this post in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

I thought things couldn’t get much worse than last year, and then they did. This year was my most challenging yet, and it has nothing to do with Coronavirus. I am actually incredibly thankful for CV this year – it forced me to stay low key and working remote allowed me extra time for self care.

Styledjen Wins

A big goal this year was to start diversifying my income on Styledjen and to not have to rely on brand collaborations. It was pretty good timing, because across the industry brand collaborations slowed down due to decreased marketing budgets. I also branched out more this year from style and started dabbling into home decor.

2018 ended with 448 brand collaborations and 2019 ended with 643 collaborations! I was pretty burnt out from all the collaborations (although super thankful for all the brands I collaborate with) and knew I had to cut back this year. This year ended with 269 collaborations and I am proud of myself for cutting back so much! I plan to do 2021 the same way, and focus less on brand collaborations and continue to branch out with home decor.

Personal Highlights

This was my second full year living in Florida. Although I don’t like living in Tampa, I am loving all the small trips we got to do! It was definitely the year of road tripping and staying local! We traveled to Universal, Disney, Palm Beach, Naples, Jekyll Island and St Augustine.

My other personal highlight was just keeping my job. I am super thankful to have a job at the end of this year and to have met all my savings goals.

Low Points

My health issues that started in 2019 carried into this year. This year was more challenging to stay positive and hold on to hope than ever. I have some really dark days where I just feel so much desperation for wanting to get better. I try to wake up each day though and tell myself MY BODY IS HEALING and will never stop healing. The issue I am dealing with is very complicated and rare. It makes it a little scary to navigate when research and doctors don’t know what to do or what the outcome is.

The biggest thing this year is that the physical pain really chipped away at me mentally. I am trying to stick with the facts and not let my mind tell me lies about my future. I swear to God I will never take my health for granted again if I get better.

2021 Resolutions

I plan on doing another dry January (I feel like a no alcohol month always resets me) and working with a nutritionist to reduce inflammation in my body. My hair has been coming out in clumps the past year with all the severe stress I am under with my health. I NEED to reduce my stress asap and plan on starting to run again to help.

I am preparing for some big changes in 2021 which means a lot of prep work for me. My end of 2021 post will be so much better than this one, and I have so much excitement for what the year holds.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading Thats A Wrap 2020! I try to stay positive on here but I have to be real sometimes, so hopefully this didn’t sound too depressing.

This is one outfit I just loved from 2020! The skirt and sweater combo is so easy and looks super chic with knee high boots. This is at Disney Springs, one of my favorite spots!
