Atlanta Trip Itinerary

Happy Saturday! It is moving day for me!!! The movers are coming to pack up everything and then I’ll be heading off to Tampa! In honor of my last day in Atlanta, I wanted to write some fun things to do if you are in Atlanta for the weekend! My Atlanta trip itinerary covers all my favorite spots!

If you know anything about Atlanta, it’s that we love our neighborhoods! Every little part of the city is segmented into a “neighborhood” with a name. It took me a little bit to figure them all out when I arrived, but now I know them like the back of my hand.

Sizing reference: I am 5’4″ and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms.

I live in Inman Park, so I focused on things near my area that I love. There are also a ton of fun things to do in Midtown, West Midtown, Buckhead etc! I also created a restaurant guide here.

Atlanta Beltline

One of the coolest and unique things about Atlanta is the trail running through downtown. It used to be an old railroad line running through the town. 5 years ago before the Beltline was built and paved, the abandoned railway was coined the “homeless highway” because many homeless people would use this path to go from neighborhood to neighborhood. A Georgia Tech grad student used this concept for his Thesis and thus the Beltline was born.

I live on the Beltline and it is one of my most used amenities. I love being able to run, walk and bike on it. It promotes a healthy lifestyle and one awesome community. I can walk to Starbucks, the grocery store and TONS of restaurants using the Beltline. I recommend starting at Krog Street Market and exploring, and then walking on the Beltline down to Ponce City Market and then Piedmont Park! It is just slightly over a mile from Krog Street Market to Ponce City Market using that Beltline. From Ponce City Market to Piedmont Park it is less than a mile.

Ponce City Market

If you have never been to Ponce City Market and are in town, it is my number one recommendation to anyone on my Atlanta trip itinerary! It is seriously the best place in the world. It’s an old converted Sears headquarters from almost 100 years ago and is such a magical place! I live 1.4 miles away and often walk there on the Beltline. In fact, most of my photos are taken there (including these in this post). It’s a very instagrammable spot with tons of shops, bars and restaurants. They have an awesome rooftop also! My favorite part about Ponce City Market is being able to walk around with alcohol while shopping.

Krog Street Market

Krog Street Market is like a mini Ponce City Market. I live a stone throw away so I am ALWAYS at Krog!!! When we moved here almost 3 years ago, Krog and Ponce were just getting built. It’s amazing to see the progress and how much it’s added to the area. Places like this make Atlanta such a unique and special city. I will always love this city so much because of these type of amenities.

Piedmont Park

Piedmont Park has the most outstanding city views imaginable. It is HUGE – 185 acres to be exact! The Beltline is connected to the Park and there are trails running all through the Park. There is a huge pond, a dog park, a pool and the most impressive Botanical Gardens I have ever been to. The Botanical Gardens is super beautiful and worth the admission cost. Piedmont Park also has a fabulous farmers market every Saturday. I love going there and getting Blue Donkey Coffee and Chinese Southern Belle dumplings! There are so many local vendors and sometimes live music.
