That’s a Wrap 2021

And that’s a wrap 2021! It seems like this was the fastest year yet, and it’s hard to believe it’s almost 2 years since Coronavirus started. I like to write these posts at the end of the year to reflect on the year and have something to remember. I am normally sad when the holiday season and fall comes to an end, but this year I am oddly just so excited for a fresh start. Bring it on 2022!!!

If you want to go back and read my previous years, here are 2020, 2019, 2018 and 2017.

Styledjen Wins

I celebrated 4 years of Styledjen this year! I have really poured my heart and soul and a ridiculous amount of time into Styledjen since the day I started. In the recent months, I’ve started cutting back a lot because I just can’t do it all anymore and I need to start prioritizing ME over my little business (which isn’t even my full time job, but I definitely spend over 40 hr/wk on it). I will absolutely keep posting on my blog and on Instagram, but I might be taking some weekends off from time to time and spending less time engaging on Instagram.

One of my goals for this year was to branch out into home decor, and I haven’t exactly made that happen yet. It is definitely on my list though for when we move.

Personal Highlights

My health issues have improved slightly this past year, which I am just so grateful for. I still am on a journey of treatments and doctor visits and a lot of expensive meds, but I will absolutely take progress!

We had a lot of fun traveling this year and visited Disney Springs, Sarasota, Anna Maria Island (twice), Miami, Key West, Islamorada, St Pete, Siesta Key, Naples, Savannah, Asheville, Atlanta, Universal Studios, Cleveland (twice), and Denver. Writing out all those trips makes me realize how long the year was even though it felt quick (see all my travel posts here)!

Another highlight, is that since I’ve cut back on Styledjen, I had more time to have fun with my husband this year! It has been nice to take back my weekends instead of working the entire weekend. We discovered how much we adore Dunedin this year and have been going every single weekend. We LOVE the food and breweries there and it’s been really nice for us to have something to look forward to each week since we don’t really like Tampa.

Low Points

This year did NOT go as planned at all! But you know what… that is okay. The past few years have truly been a test of my patience. We first started talking about leaving Florida at the end of 2019, but Coronavirus and my health issues greatly slowed that process of job hunting down (I also didn’t want to leave my doctors in the middle of all my treatments). I really thought 2021 would be the magic year where we would move and life would suddenly be good again, which is why I say the last few years have been a test of patience.

I am keeping the faith that those things are all ahead for me in 2022 and I can’t wait!

2022 Resolutions

I did complete my 2021 goal of reducing stress, and my hair has finally stopped falling out! I also successfully did a dry January and will do another dry January for 2022. My phrase for 2022 is “a year of positive change”.

I’ve been in quite a rut the last few years and my 2022 goal is to focus on my health. Without my health, I have nothing and I have really learned that lesson. I gained a lot of weight in 2020 during lockdown, and wasn’t able to lose it this year and I haven’t worked out since 2019. So, my first goal is to start working out again and doing workout classes.

I find the best way for me to keep at it is to do classes. I have already signed up for a membership and taken a couple HIIT classes ahead of the holidays (I started going to the YMCA and highly recommend). It felt SO good to sweat again. Those endorphins came back in full force during the first class and I told my husband that evening it was the happiest I’ve felt in a long time. I am really excited to stick with it and get back into shape!

One of My Favorite Outfits of 2021

And it wouldn’t be a blog post without an outfit! This was one of my favorite outfits I wore this fall when we were in Denver. We had way too much fun brewery hopping and it was just the best time and so many great memories! I sized up to a small in the leggings and tee. This plaid flannel is SO cute and run oversized and these boots are amazingly warm and comfortable.

Thank you so much for reading That’s a Wrap 2021. If you are here reading all about my personal life, I just want to say I really appreciate you and thank you for sticking around. I am so grateful for everyone I have met through blogging and can’t wait for many more years ahead!

Sizing reference: I am 5’4″ and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms.
