There are few mainstream trends I don’t like, but one of the ones I LOVE are teddy coats! This teddy coat outfits for petites post is dedicated to the short ladies out there who are struggling with the teddy trend! Not to say tall women don’t struggle, but I feel like teddys are especially hard for us short girls because they add bulk that might not be flattering. I tried on so many teddy coats and couldn’t figure out why they all looked like they added 30 pounds to my frame. I was determined after failing last winter to find one! In order to make it work for me, I realized I need to play with the proportions different and figured out what DOES work!

The short girl teddy formula = cropped teddy + high rise dark skinnies + OTK boot

And there you have it, my one way ticket to a flattering teddy look! For the teddy coat, pick something that hits right around your waist. If we are adding bulk to the top, we want to lengthen the leg as much as possible. In order to do that, you need a teddy that doesn’t cover your butt. Another long and lean tip is to do high rise dark skinnies. High rise is super flattering and a dark denim is always more physically flattering than a light pair.
