We just got back from an epic Southeast trip and we started our tour off with a Savannah Georgia weekend trip! We used to visit Savannah more often when we lived in Asheville and Atlanta, but it’s actually not much further of a drive from Tampa than Atlanta.
It’s been a few years since we have visited this area. We did go to Jekyll Island Georgia in December, but didn’t get a chance to drive a little further to Savannah! So this Savannah Georgia weekend trip was overdue and it was amazing! Keep scrolling for all my recommendations!

Sizing reference: I am 5’4″ and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms.
Savannah is 5 hour from Tampa, and it’s a very easy drive. A great stopping point for some lunch along the way is Disney Springs or St Augustine. We love this town for a good time! We like Savannah more for going out and Charleston better for food options, if you are thinking about planning a trip.
There are so many places to stay, but I recommend you stay in historic Savannah close to the river. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, but next time I would try the JW Marriott because it looked like the coolest hotel ever. There are plenty of great spots to choose from.
This light skort and tee combo was perfect for walking around Savannah. I highly recommend comfortable shoes because everything is so walkable. My sandals are the comfiest non running shoe I own to be honest, so I wear these on most of my trips. They are even more comfortable than my Golden Goose sneakers for walking.

Treylor Park is our casual go-to in Savannah because the food and drinks are great. The only downside is that they don’t take reservations. Chad got the chicken pancake tacos and I got the fried banana peppers. The meals are pretty big so they are definitely splittable. We’ve ate at the famous Pink House before and felt it was totally overrated. For great seafood, Alligator Soul is amazing (but definitely a dressy atmosphere aka don’t stumble in after day drinking) and Vic’s on the River is fabulous too.
We stopped at Back in the Day Bakery on our way out for breakfast and everything was SO good (my fave was the cupcake)! I highly recommend this spot. Just a note, there’s no where to sit and no restrooms.
We also hopped around to different cocktail spots. These are our faves:
Peregrin – The city and bridge view here is unreal! Definitely a great spot for a fancy drink and fab view.
Artillery – This super fancy spot doesn’t allow flip flops lol. I got an awesome pickle drink that I loved. Would be the perfect date spot. Note, there’s no food on the menu, just drinks.
Bao Bab Lounge – Probably the coolest place I’ve ever had a drink. Located in the JW Marriot on the river. This spot is an absolute MUST! Food is great too!
Electric Moon Skytop Lounge – Not so great drinks, but the river view is unbeatable!
This girly pink gingham dress was perfect for an evening in Savannah! Savannah is on the coast, so it’s your typical humid climate and I love to wear light dresses that I won’t sweat in.

I'm dying to get to Savannah and can't believe we haven't gone in four plus years of living in Atlanta! Saving this for when we finally make it there :)
I've never heard of any of those restaurants - thanks for the tips!
