Paris Trip

Bonjour mes amis (Translation: Hello my friends!)! Covering everything from our Paris Trip today!

If you haven’t been following along, here are my other posts from our Europe trip:

First stop was Lake Como, Italy (post here)

Then Milan, Italy and then Switzerland (post here)

Next up was Marseille, France (post here)

And our last stop was PARIS!

We absolutely loved Paris! It was my husband’s first time there so we did all the typical stuff – but honestly, I don’t think the typical tourist stuff in Paris would ever get old for me! It’s such a magical city! Scroll down to read about our Paris Trip and what I wore there!

Sizing reference: I am 5’4″ and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms.

Me in front of the Arc de Triomphe! ^^^ Pretty sure I got a million eye rolls for wearing this tee lol

How to Get from Marseille, France to Paris

We took a high speed train from Marseille to Paris. It took 3 hours and the scenery was just gorgeous the entire way. You’ll want to buy high speed tickets ahead of time and don’t worry about first class versus second for these trains, they are basically the same. Once we arrived in Paris we decided to Uber to our Airbnb. We were too tired to figure out the metro.

Where to Stay in Paris

For us, we wanted a fun going-out neighborhoody Parisian vibe. We chose to stay in Le Marais, which was perfect for that type of foodie and late night scene! There were hundreds of restaurants and so many young people in the area! Also, it doesn’t get dark until like 9:30-10pm, so everyone stayed out much later (is that like a latitude longitude thing??). Even during the work week the cafes and restaurants were buzzing with people until midnight. My husband and I both said we wanted to move to Paris after experiencing this area!

Pro Tips

Pro Tip 1: Be prepared to carry luggage up steps! There are not many elevators in Europe so understand when you book a place how many flights of stairs there are and if that is an issue. Luckily my husband was able to carry all the luggage for me.

Pro Tip 2: ALSO, there is not AC everywhere! If you are going during a hot month, be prepared for the heat or do your research to make sure you book a place with AC (not very common and very expensive). Or do what me and my husband did and knock yourself out at night with Melatonin (of whatever your preferred sleep aid is lol)

People watching with nutella crepes and a bottle of wine is a MUST! ^^^

I found out my tee (linked below) is part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but I scored it several months ago at Nordstrom Rack for $7. I have not shopped the anniversary sale (okay fine, I bought the Diptyque candle set, but that’s it!!!) but was cruising the site and saw that I actually own several of the pieces already and they all came from Nordstrom Rack WAY cheaper than the anniversary sale price. How ironic!

Notre Dame ^^^

In front of the Louvre ^^^

Pro Tip: We went to the Louvre at 7pm and it was nearly empty! We stayed until 9:30pm (closes at 10) and we had the place to ourselves. That is how I got so close to miss Mona here!

What to Do in Paris

This was our agenda. Note, we are not super into history or museums or tours. We are huge foodies and love to just walk around and explore local places.

Louvre / Arc de Triomphe

Notre Dame

Eiffel Tower

Eat amazing French food and Crepes! Note: use Trip Advisor app for searching for restaurants. The reviews are very accurate and we stuck to places 4.5 stars and above and were very pleased.

Visit Ladurée for their amazing macarons

Champs Élysées

I ate all of my macarons within a couple hours. They are addicting I swear!

I used this post from Atlantic Pacific to scout out this shooting location below!

Comfy Clothes

I wore my Aetrex sneakers the whole trip (see my old post about Aetrex here!) because they are the most comfortable shoe I own! This loose dress was perfect since I gained weight throughout the trip hahaha. I cannot recommend this dress though because I washed it when I got home and I saw so many loose threads after washing it! It was very disappointing because I spent $50 on it, which is a lot for me to spend on a single piece of clothing.

We ate lunch at Les Petites Bouchees and it was fabulous!

Mushroom risotto, Gazpacho, Spanish ham quesadilla, Beet salad, Salmon, Mozzarella beignets

This was truffle mashed potatoes with blackened chicken from Tradi. This was one of the most amazing places we went on our trip. The service was UNREAL and everyone there was incredibly nice. We were absolutely blown away with this spot.

This cute little cafe specialized in escargot! I will usually eat anything but I just couldn’t do it haha.

We wrapped up our Paris trip and flew back to Orlando. We had such a wonderful time, I cannot wait to go back!! If you are planning a Paris trip and have any questions, feel free to reach out to me!
