The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2021 is here and marks the start of all things Fall!!! It is my absolute favorite time of year. I’ve got the scoop on all things related to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2021. Scroll below for all the details, plus my try on!

The Anniversary sale happens once a year and it’s the best Nordstrom sale of the year! All of the early fall arrivals (and plenty of summer items) are marked down at this time. Nothing gets me more excited for my favorite season and fall fashion than this sale! I started shopping it years and years ago and very much look forward to it every year.
The Nordstrom Anniversary sale 2021 is officially live online here!! If you aren’t able to shop yet, you can still browse!
If you are a Nordstrom cardholder, you can shop as early as July 12th depending on your status. For everyone else that is not a cardholder, you can shop the 28th. Check your cardholder status here or sign up for one here!

I think of the cost per wear of all my purchases before I buy. For example, if I wear a $100 pair of boots 20 times, that is $5 per wear. But, a $25 blouse I wear once is $25 per wear. In my experience, things like shoes, accessories and bags get more mileage in my closet than actual clothing (with the exception of denim because I wear denim to work daily (note: I will finally be going back to the office soon after being remote for 16 months!)).
Before the sale I like to do an inventory assessment in my closet and get rid of things that aren’t my style anymore or that look worn. I also did a color assessment and found the colors that look best on me, so I am purging the other colors. That has helped a lot with deciding what stays and what goes, and helps for a more coordinated closet.
You’ll see inventory is limited and runs out quick, especially on the popular items. My number 1 tip, is if you LOVE and NEED something, buy it in whatever size is left. Then after the sale exchange it for the right size and still get the sale price. I did that last year with the hard-to-get Barefoot Dreams leopard cardigans. If you really are desperate for something, keep the page open in your internet browser and refresh it constantly throughout the day. Eventually you’ll see a size or two pop back in stock and then quickly buy before someone else does.

Save your double points day for when you plan to shop the sale (if you are a cardholder).
Buy multiple sizes if you are unsure. The worst is when something sells out after you purchase only to realize when it arrives in the mail it’s not the right size.
I love using this sale as an opportunity to stock up on gifts. I always grab stocking stuffers and birthday gifts during this time.
Sizing reference: I am 5’4″ and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms. I currently weigh 120 pounds.

These jeans were my absolute favorite of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale 2021 denim selections! I think crop flares are super flattering with booties and I think this style is on trend (apparently skinny jeans are “out” LOL). They are very stretchy and comfortable. I will be wearing these a ton with sandals, booties, mules and sneakers. The top (comes in 2 colors) is also crazy soft because it’s a waffle knit.

The Vince Camuto were definitely my favorite heeled ankle bootie this year! Last year I loved the Marc Fisher and Steve Madden, but this year not as much. The Sam Edelman Knee high boots come in a wide calf as well. Ultimately I did not purchase them because they were too wide around my calf. I wish they made a skinny calf version! The mules are super cute but unfortunately were a little too wide on me. Chelsea boots are trending big this year, and the white Marc Fisher were my favorite of them all! All of these options come in several colors too.

There are so many cute finds in this sale! I bought the Spanx leggings and I am really excited about them! I also love that initial necklace!
