Today I am doing a Lululemon Speed Up shorts review! These shorts were super tricky for me to get right, but they ended up being my favorite shorts from Lululemon. Keep reading below for all the details!
If you’re looking for more short reviews, check out my Align shorts review here.
Finding the right pair of these shorts was like Goldilocks because they come in low, mid and high rise and 2.5″ and 4″ lengths. The price ranges from $58 to $78, and is something you can get marked down. With Speed Up shorts being super popular, most colors/sizes arenโt even available for long. I bought mine full price because they sell out so quick and I wear a popular size.
How To Wear
First up in my Lululemon Speed Up shorts review is how to wear them! I love them with sweatshirts, tanks, tees and jackets!
Where To Wear
These shorts are the perfect lightweight material that can withstand a heavy workout or run. I love wearing these casually and to the gym. I frequently wear these to run errands since they are easy to throw on! They have a built in liner, so there’s no need to worry about anything showing during a workout class!
Speed Up Shorts Sizing
Okay here is where it got tricky for me! For the mid rise 4″ shorts, the 6 was too baggy and the 4 was too tight around the butt, even though it fit much better in the leg. For the low rise and high rise 2.5″, I found the 6 fit best, which is 1 size bigger than my legging size 4. Out of all of the shorts, the high rise 2.5″ is my favorite. For my height, 2.5″ looks the best and I prefer high rise.
Below left to right you can see them in 4″ mid rise Ripened Raspberry in size 4, size 6, 2.5″ low rise size 6.
Sizing reference: I am 5โ4โณ (currently 115 lbs) and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms. I typically wear a size 4 in Lululemon bottoms and a size 6 in Lululemon bras/tops.

Below left to right you can see the 2.5″ high rise in a size 6 and a size 4. The 4 works, but I prefer the 6.

Are The Lululemon Speed Up Shorts Worth It?
These are my favorite shorts I’ve tried from Lululemon, so I say they are worth it! They sell out quick in the popular colors and sizes (and especially the high rise fit) so I would recommend to not wait for them to get marked down like you can with a lot of other Lululemon items. For me, the high rise version is the only one I am interested in. They are also so easy to throw on and run out the door, which makes them worth it!
I am wearing the Sonic Pink 2.5″ shorts below with a Love tank. I will do a Love tank review soon too!
