Today I am doing a Lululemon Align leggings review! Align leggings are the most popular Lululemon style and they are close to the top of my list of favorite leggings. Keep reading for all the details on sizing and if they are worth it!
If you’re interested in checking out my Wunder Train legging review, check it out here.
Align leggings come in 17″, 21″, 23″, 25″, 28″ and 31″ and range from $88 to $138. The ones with pockets on the side are a little more expensive than the ones without pockets. They are pricey, but something you can get marked down. I have several pairs and some were sale finds, however sizing goes fast when they are marked down. Just know Lululemon sale item returns are for store credit only, so you need to know your size before buying.
First up in my Lululemon Align leggings review, are how to wear them! They are high rise (they make a super high rise version as well) so you can wear them with crop tops, sweatshirts, tees or really anything! I wear mine casually with sweatshirts in the fall and tees in the summer.
Align leggings are actually designed for yoga and feature the buttery soft Nulu fabric that almost feels like you’re wearing nothing. Because of their nature, I do not recommend them for heavy workouts, or even an event where your thighs might be rubbing a lot (like a day of heavy walking at Disney World). Aligns are more prone to pilling than other leggings with different fabric, so I wear mine casually. I wear them to work from home, travel and casually on weekends. Below I am wearing 23″ Aligns in Java with an Align tank (see that review here) and a plaid flannel.
Sizing reference: I am 5’4″ (currently 115 lbs) and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms. I typically wear a size 4 in Lululemon bottoms and a size 6 in Lululemon bras/tops.
Outfit Details:
Align leggings are true to size for Lululemon leggings. I wear a size 4 across the board in Lululemon leggings. Some people size down in Align leggings, but I do not recommend that. Sizing down causes the fabric to stretch more and makes it more prone to wear.
I have also read that people size up in the doubled lined Aligns (a lot of the lighter colored Aligns are double lined), but I would not recommend sizing up in them. I tried on the 25″ Pink Puff in a size 6 and the Wisteria Purple in a size 4 and definitely preferred the size 4 (these are both colors that are double lined). Like most people, I don’t love the double lined ones because they are very thick. You can tell if the color is double lined on the Lululemon website. If you click on a color that is double lined, and scroll down to the “Why You’ll Love This” section of the page, it’ll say “Lined for Coverage”.
Outfit Details:
Yes, I think Align leggings are worth it, but not full price. I will only buy them at full price in shades of brown because those sell out so fast, and I wear brown leggings more than black. My all time favorite Lululemon leggings are the Invigorate (check out that review here) followed by the Wunder Trains. Aligns are my third favorite because they are super comfortable for lounging and travel. I wouldn’t exactly love to wear a pair of Invigorates on a long car or plane ride because they are very compressive. If you don’t wear Aligns to heavy workouts and wash them correctly, they can last a very long time!
