Jekyll Island Christmas Trip

We just had the best long weekend and I have to share all about our Jekyll Island Christmas trip because it’s the PERFECT spot to spend the holiday! I want to note it’s just gorgeous there during the holidays with the decor, but would really be awesome any time of year and I would love to go back!

We drove from Tampa, which was a little over 4 hours. It felt so nice to cross the GA border (haven’t been back since we moved here from Atlanta!). It was also quite a bit colder than here, which made me excited to bust out all my cold weather gear.

We we stopped for lunch after 3 hours of driving in St Augustine to visit our favorite spot there, Ice Plant. Read about our last St Augustine trip here.

Keep scrolling down to read more about our Jekyll Island Christmas trip and details of what I wore there.

Sizing reference: I am 5’4″ and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms.

St Augustine Lunch Outfit

First stop, Moscow mules at Ice Plant! You can do a distillery tour too and all their drinks are fabulous. The crab beignets and fish spread are literally to die for. This sweater dress is a size small and is so freakin cozy!

Dress (c/o), Belt, Boots, Sunglasses, Hermes Bag

After a nice lunch break, we hit the road and arrived in Georgia! Upon entering Jekyll Island you do pay a small fee (I think it was $8 per car). Jekyll Island Club Resort is where we stayed and it was one of my all time favorite spots. There is so much history (it opened in 1888) and all the cottages on the property were beautifully decorated for Christmas. The place is covered in beautiful Spanish moss too.

The interior was so cozy and old world looking with ornate Christmas decor, decedent fireplaces and cozy leather chairs. We spent hours chatting fireside, laughing and enjoying the atmosphere. Pro tip: bring your own alcohol to save some $$ and just put it in a Yeti tumbler to carry around. That’s what we did and it was perfect to sit outside and watch the sunset with our wine.

Here is a photo of one of the many cottages!

I captured this gorgeous photo of the sunset and horse carriage. There’s tons of paths for walking, biking and trolley rides.

The first night of our Jekyll Island Christmas trip was one for the books with this gorgeous golden glow. After we arrived, we unpacked quickly and watched the sunset. Look at that orange sky in the background of the photo below! The lights on the oak trees were just stunning and the attention to detail on the property was immaculate.

Wharf Dinner Outfit

I had She Crab soup and a kale salad at the Wharf (overlooking the water on the property). I wore this oversized blazer (size 2) as a jacket with a velvet cardigan under.

Outfit Details:

Jacket, Jeans (c/o), Boots, Necklace, Apple Watch Band, Cable Bracelets, Hoops (c/o), Hermes Bag

This is a view of the Wharf. To be honest, not the best food in the world, but I’ll give it 4 stars because of the great service, convenient location and killer views.

Sunset Watching Outfit

I wore this outfit to watch the sunset before our dinner at the Wharf. So happy I had this warm and easily packable jacket!

Outfit Details:

Coat, Jeans (c/o), Sneakers, Sunglasses, Necklace, Hoops (c/o), Apple Watch Band, Cable Bracelets, Hermes Bag

Day 2 – St Simons

Day 2 we did some exploring on St Simons Island (less than 30 minutes from Jeykll) and ate at the most delicious lunch spot ever – Delaney’s Bistro. I had a lobster topped Greek Salad and Chad had the best fried green tomato sandwich. It was definitely the food highlight of the trip. St Simons was adorable and the streets were lined with small boutiques and restuarants. St Simons was definitely more busy and populated than Jekyll. It reminded me of when I lived in Virginia and had the same Northeastern coastal vibe.

It wasn’t too bad during the day with the sunshine, so I wore my quarter zip. I size up to a small in these.

Outfit Details:

Pullover, Jeans (c/o), Sneakers, Sunglasses, Necklace, Hoops (c/o), Apple Watch Band, Cable Bracelets, Hermes Bag

My favorite experience on Jekyll Island was visiting the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. It was incredible to see these beautiful animals being rehabilitated. I definitely teared up reading some of their stories… it’s incredibly sad. We humans don’t deserve these amazing creatures.

Another gorgeous sunset capture on night 2 in front of the Wharf.

No better way to watch the sunset! Wearing my same quarter zip and jacket from above.

Exploring Jekyll Island Outfit

I sized up to a small in both this top and vest. The vest kept me super warm while walking.

This Amazon dress is one of my all time favorite Amazon finds! Wearing a small.
