Today I am going to share my favorite north Georgia wineries! I used to live in Atlanta for 3 years before moving back this year, and I never knew there were wineries and mountain views just outside of Atlanta! It’s such a fun day trip to enjoy gorgeous views and good wine. From the center of Atlanta it can take between an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half to get out to the wineries. Below I’ll go into more details on my favorite north Georgia wineries and feel free to leave any questions in the comments!

Wolf Mountain Vineyards
The first stop on our day drip is Wolf Mountain Vineyards because they have gorgeous views and food! We leave around 10:30 to arrive at noon for lunch. You can make a reservation inside, or go the tasting deck and order pizza at the bar area. Their pizza is wood fired and so good! I prefer the tasting deck because it is outside and there is no need to make a reservation.
The weather can be a little cooler with the higher elevation, and both days I went I needed a sweater! The photos below are views from the tasting deck.
Sizing reference: I am 5’4″ and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms.

The winery is equally gorgeous in the fall, I couldn’t get over all the beautiful foliage!

Cavender Creek Vineyards
The next stop, only about 15 minutes away, is Cavender Creek! In my opinion, this is the best wine. It is super high quality and the place itself is gorgeous. There are no mountain views, but there’s views of all the adorable donkeys and cows. The donkeys are very sweet and will let you pet them. They love if you give them a fist full of fresh grass! The popcorn and soft pretzels are really good here if you want a little snack! Cavender Creek is usually much less crowded than Wolf Mountain and Kaya and is a very laid back vibe.

Kaya Winery
Kaya is only about 15 minutes from Cavender and has the best mountain views! It’s also a pretty lively spot and there’s usually live music and quite a crowd. The back deck is gorgeous with rows of grapes and mountains in the background. 3 wineries is perfect for a long afternoon and these 3 are all so close together that is works out perfect!

Fainting Goat Vineyard
Fainting Goat Vineyard is such a relaxing spot to grab some wine! They have some really sweet old goats on the property that you can go see and the views are incredible! We went during the fall when the leaves were starting to change and it was gorgeous.

Canoe
Canoe is super close to Fainting Goat, so it’s worth stopping at! The wine is great and it’s a casual spot to hang out.
