Sharing my favorite Dallas restaurant recommendations! Dallas food is off the charts and the best of every place I have lived (Cleveland, Columbus, Williamsburg, Raleigh, Asheville, Atlanta, Tampa)! Coming from Tampa with not much good food (see my post about moving here), it’s been heaven exploring all the restaurants here these past 2 years! For each category in my Dallas restaurant recommendations, I listed the restaurants starting with my most favorite at the top.
Mexican
Las Palmas – This is hands down my favorite nice Mexican spot in Dallas! The fajitas are amazing (I love the shrimp). Their queso is also great and the dimly lit ambiance has a nice western vibe.
El Come Taco – This is my favorite cheap taco spot! The guacamole is amazing too.
Velvet Taco – Velvet Taco is a chain, but hands down some of my favorite comfort food in Dallas. I get Velvet Taco at least once a week, and it was the first meal I had in Dallas!
Tulum – Tulum has a really good brunch on Sunday and my favorite chilaquiles I’ve ever tried!
Hugo’s Invitados – This spot has super fresh food and I love the beautiful interior.
Ruins – Ruins is pretty good and I’ve never had anything but great meals there.
La Ventana – This is such a good spot for cheap tacos, but my favorite is their queso!
Doce Mesas – This small spot has incredible queso and a great outdoor space.
Bakeries
Bisous Bisous – Bisous Bisous has the best macarons in Dallas hands down!
Village Baking Co – There’s several of these around town and everything is so good!
Carte Blanche – The bakery menu here is super unique and delicous.
Emporium Pies – I am obsessed with the apple pie here.
Asian
Pearl – The Pearl is a new spot for sushi in Dallas and quality wise, it is on par with Uchi (but it’s cheaper)! It’s my favorite spot for sushi in Dallas. The torched salmon roll haunts my dreams, I crave it all the time. We got here almost every week.
Anchor Sushi – This is a newer spot and one of my absolute favorite patios and happy hours in Dallas. The half price martinis are amazing! We go here at least once per week.
Shinsei – Shinsei is one of my top favorites for Dallas! I would say quality wise, it’s right after Uchi and Pearl, but very close. For the price it’s probably the best spot, although it’s still kind of expensive.
Uchi – Uchi has some of the highest quality sushi in Dallas! It’s very pricey, so I recommend trying their happy hour too!
Ichigoh – This is the best ramen spot in Dallas.
Wabi House – In my opinion, this is the second best ramen spot. It’s still amazing, but I prefer Ichigoh slightly more.
Niwa – This Japanese BBQ spot is a really fun place to go!
Nobu – We had never been to Nobu, so we had to try it and it was not worth the price in my opinion. It’s a great spot to try once, but I wouldn’t go regularly. Pearl has higher quality sushi and it costs less.
Hungry Belly – For cheap sushi, Hungry Belly is our go to in Dallas. We love the Alaskan roll!
Pizza
Mister O1 – Mister O1 is my favorite pizza in Dallas! I first went to Mister O1 in Boca Raton and was so happy when they opened up here. Their salads are insanely good and so is the pizza!
Olivella’s Pizza – This is a tie with Mister O1 and I love everything on their menu!
Pie Tap – Their pizza is really good and it reminds me I need to go more.
DL Macks – This spot is super cute and cozy inside, it reminds me of Chicago.
Pizzana – Pretty solid spot for a pizza date night, but the pizza can be greasy.
BBQ
Terry Blacks – This is my favorite BBQ spot in Dallas! We love grabbing lunch here and also getting meat to go when our recipes call for brisket!
Pecan Lodge – This is a solid BBQ spot, but make sure you come at an off time because the line gets crazy.
Brunch
Beverly’s – This is my favorite brunch spot in Dallas. The drinks and food are amazing and the patio is great when the weather is nice.
Knox Bistro – Knox Bistro has amazing food and a fabulous patio!
Sixty Vines – This is a super cute spot and a great spot to go with a bunch of girlfriends!
Restoration Hardware – Restoration Hardware is such a great spot to enjoy brunch (or any other meal) because the view is amazing and I love the vibes! You absolutely need reservations though because walk-ins are impossible.
Italian
Il Bracco – This is hands down the best Italian in Dallas! I’ve had ever pasta dish and love them all. Their focaccia bread is the best thing in the world.
Eataly – Eataly is our favorite mall spot! We love grabbing groceries here like fresh pasta and sauce to make for dinner. We always stop at their little bar for a spritz when we visit.
Fancy Date Night
Sister – I was so impressed with Sister, it’s definitely one of my favorite meals I’ve had in Dallas! Their beet salad, focaccia bread and pasta are amazing! The restaurant itself is super cute too! We have been back several times and each time gets better and better.
Town Hearth – Town Hearth blew me out of the water with their service and food! The steaks were incredible and we absolutely loved the tots!
The Charles – Really cute date night spot with amazing pasta and sides! I really enjoyed my gnocchi.
Rye – This is some of the most unique food I’ve ever had! The Icelandic hotdogs are addicting!
Brass Ram – This is a great spot! I really love their coconut shrimp, caesar and truffle pasta!
Capital Grille – This might be the best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant! I know Capital Grill is a chain, but their steaks are amazing!
Casual Date Night
Barcelona Wine Bar – Barcelona has an amazing patio and it’s such a fun spot to bring people. We love getting a pitcher of sangria and tapas! They also have brunch on weekends and we love sitting on their patio during the day when it’s nice!
Bowen House – Bowen House has fabulous drinks and food and just overall a great vibe! I love their chicken tenders!
Paradiso – Paradiso has amazing pasta and a ton of other options. The decor and patio are amazing and it would be a fun spot to go with girlfriends too! We have gone during the day as well and loved it!
Lunch Spots
Written By The Seasons – This is my favorite lunch spot in Dallas because Saturday they have half price bottles of wine, and the food is all so good! Everything is really fresh and delicious.
Honor Bar – Honor Bar doesn’t take reservations, so I prefer to go at lunch because the wait can be quite long! Luckily, they have a nice area to sit outside and order drinks if you are waiting for a table. I love their trout dip and chicken sandwich! Honor Bar is also one of my favorite spots to sit and people watch because everyone is always dressed really nice in Highland Park Village!
Stock & Barrel – We have only been here once, but our meal was phenomenal. I definitely want to go back.
Hudson House – Hudson House is a cute spot for brunch or lunch! The food is decent but I think the ambiance is a 10/10!
Fount Board & Table – This is such a cute coffee shop with great food. I see a lot of people working here too.
Yo! Lobster – Yo! Lobster is in Highland Park Village and much easier to get into than Honor Bar! It’s our go to when Honor Bar is too packed and the patio is amazing!
Haywire – Solid spot with a big menu.
Invasion – If you are craving fried chicken this is the spot! It’s so good!
Streets Fine Chicken – This is a great cheap spot for brunch or lunch! I love their chicken and waffles.
Breweries / Drinks
Chelsea’s Corner – Chelsea’s is my favorite casual spot for grabbing drinks! The food isn’t that great, but I do love the boneless buffalo wings. Their back patio is super cute too.
Leela’s Wine Bar – This is the cutest spot for drinks (love both locations) and it’s especially amazing around the holidays.
Deep Ellum Brewing – Dallas does not have much of a beer scene compared to everywhere else I have lived. Most of my favorite breweries don’t distribute here either, which makes me sad. We did find a couple spots we like though and Deep Ellum is one. I’ve tried many of their beers and they have been great!
Westlake Brewing – Westlake is another good spot for beer, and it’s right by Deep Ellum Brewing.
