Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! I spent a lot of time shooting and catching up on blog related activities after going on the most relaxing weekend trip to the Wyndham Orlando Resort on International Drive!
If you know me or have followed me for a while, you might know that I have moved around a lot. Whenever I move to a new state, I always get excited to explore the surrounding areas and like to make a bucket list for while I am living there. One of the things I want to do while living in Florida is explore all Orlando has to offer, and boy is there a lot! Our weekend trip to Wyndham Orlando Resort on International Drive was filled with all my favorite things: great food, pool time and Universal / Disney.
If you want to read about our Palm Beach weekend trip, check it out here.
Sizing reference: I am 5’4″ and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms.
We went to Universal in February because I was dying to see Harry Potter World. I knew immediately after that weekend I had to get back to Orlando as soon as possible because there was so much to see! This time, we decided to explore ICON Orlando and Disney Springs.
If you are wondering what ICON is, it is a new entertainment district in Orlando with a ton of great restaurants, shops and a huge ferris wheel (keep scrolling to check out my photos!). Disney Springs is sort of like the City Walk for Universal but for Disney. It is HUGE and we had a blast walking around and checking it out. Best of all, there is no expensive admission like there is to the parks, but you still have quite the experience.
The Wyndham
We decided to stay at the Wyndham Resort since it is within walking distance of ICON and a short drive to Disney and Universal. Whether it’s a weekend trip or a week long trip, the Wyndham was the perfect quiet spot to stay. A lot more about the hotel below, but I want to share 20% off with all of you by clicking this link! There is no minimum stay required and it’s off the best available rate. You honestly cannot beat that sort of discount, it makes a trip much more affordable (the rooms start at $80)!
The hotel also conveniently has a shuttle to Universal, Islands of Adventure and Sea World so that you don’t have to worry about driving or taking an Uber. It’s actually not that far from Universal and if you wanted to walk you definitely could.
The Wyndham Amenities
The hotel has such a nice pool! If you are going to Disney or Universal for the week and need a relaxing break, the pool is the perfect spot to spend the day. I really enjoyed relaxing by the quiet pool. The whole resort was surprisingly super quiet, even being right in the excitement of ICON. I slept like a baby with the black out blinds and their luxe pillow top mattress.
The hotel has complimentary wifi and is pet friendly if you are traveling with an animal. I also loved that the room has a mini fridge since we like to put snacks in there.
There is a poolside bar and grill as well as another bar in the main lobby. If you are looking for a quiet spot to work, the lobby has a ton of space and a huge outdoor area. I got a bunch of work done on the nice outside terrace. The Wyndham is located right next to a Starbucks and Cooper’s Hawk Winery as well!
The red swimsuit I wore here is a Target find! I decided to try the high rise bikini bottom trend for the first time and kind of like it!

Exploring the Resort
How pretty are these flowers!? There were so many good spots for photos around the resort! This romper was perfect for the trip because it is so soft and comfortable! I loved visiting this time of year before all the Spring-breakers come out, it was so serene walking around the 22 acre resort.

I loved the attention to detail the Wyndham has for their property. The Blue Lagoon area has winding lagoons and tropical landscaping.

ICON Orlando
ICON is Orlando’s newest entertainment district, featuring some of my favorite restaurants like Yard House and Shake Shack! The landscaping is really awesome with the winding water and waterfalls. We grabbed some Starbucks and walked around and loved the area! Our first night we went and grabbed drinks and it was so nice to be able to walk back to our hotel room. I definitely want to come back to this area!
Check out ICON’s ferris wheel! I was too afraid to get on because I don’t like being confined!
Also, these are my favorite denim shorts ever. If you need to buy only one pair of denim shorts this year, make these the pair you get!

Here are a couple photos from Disney Spring’s Boat House. I had the most amazing fish tacos and it’s right on the water! You can ever drive vintage cars on the water, it is truly a one of a kind restaurant! I would definitely drive all the way back for the truffle fries!!
