I just got back from a NYC weekend trip and I spent SO much time planning this trip, so I am going to leave my itinerary below! I haven’t been to New York City in 10 years and my husband has never been before, so I was super excited to show him around! It was such an incredible trip and I spent WEEKS researching spots, so just know a ton of thought and time was put into this itinerary I am sharing! I haven’t cried when I’ve gotten home from a trip before, and I cried because this trip was THAT good and I just love this city so much.
If you missed my last travel post to Newport, check it out here.
Day 1: Travel to NYC
We were already in the region, so instead of flying, we took the Amtrak to Penn Station. It was my first time taking the Amtrak and I did business class seats and was very impressed. I felt like a little kid on the train because I couldn’t stop staring out the window and getting so excited as we got closer to the city. The train station was pretty easy to figure out and once we arrived in NYC, it was seriously such a gorgeous station. Once we arrived at Penn Station we Ubered to Soho Grand Hotel, since I didn’t want to deal with luggage on the subway.
Soho Grand Hotel was beautiful and I would absolutely stay there again. The rooms were spacious and updated and it was a really great location. I didn’t want to stay in Times Square because it’s so crazy, and Soho ended up being the perfect spot. I did bring earplugs which turned out to be helpful with the street noise. There were horns blowing pretty much all night but it wasn’t a huge deal because the AC drowned out most of the noise. The hotel also has a wonderful lounge and bar area and the vibes are amazing.

Day 2 Day:
I was so excited to wake up and explore the neighborhood! I started our NYC weekend trip at Blank Street Coffee for coffee and it was SO good. After that, I meandered over to Apollo Bagels in West Village and it was one of the best things I’ve ever ate in my life. I want to cry thinking about how much I miss that bagel right now. After that, we went and had lunch at Momoya, which was pretty good sushi. There was no wait and it was easy to get in.

After that we started heading towards the Brooklyn Bridge. The walk from Soho was not bad at all. The Brooklyn Bridge was absolutely incredible and one of the highlights of the NYC weekend trip. We walked to the other side and got beers at Time Out Market. Time Out Market has the best rooftop views and I HIGHLY recommend going there after walking the bridge. At this point in the day it was early afternoon and we had walked almost 10 miles, so we decided to learn to use the subway system. It ended up being really easy to use and we headed back to Soho from Brooklyn.

Sizing reference: I am 5β4β³ and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms.
I wore this outfit during the day and it was comfortable but cute and perfect for the fall weather!

Day 2 Evening:
Before dinner we got drinks at the Museum of Modern Art Modern bar. It was a chic spot for drinks and no wait to get a seat at the bar. We then had dinner at Polo Bar, and let me tell you, I felt so lucky to get this reservation. I called their reservation line about a week before our trip and magically there was a spot for 2. We sat next to a guy who lived in NYC his whole life and he told us it took him 3 years to get a reservation! It was the BEST experience and the highlight of my NYC weekend trip.
We got the corned beef bites which were so good and the burger of the day, which was a burger with truffles. To finish the meal, we got the coconut cake which was insanely good. The vibe of the restaurant was amazing, it felt so chic and luxe. I will forever cherish that experience! After dinner, we were so tired so we took the subway back to the hotel and called it a night.

I wore this fall outfit to Polo Bar and added a plaid blazer over top, and it was the perfect Ralph Lauren aesthetic outfit for dinner!

Day 3 Day:
The next day we started with coffee from La Colombe and it was really awesome coffee. We walked around Soho and decided to grab more coffee at Caffe Paradiso and the viral salted brown butter oat milk draft latte was as good as it sounds! After that we had lunch at Monkey Bar, another hard to get into spot in NYC, and it was so worth it! The truffle bread was insane and I am dying to get back to eat more of it. We got the prime rib and my husband ate the entire thing and loved it.

I wore this outfit in the morning and it was super comfy to grab coffee in!

After lunch, we walked around to the shops, stopped into Hermes and explored the upper east side. We went through Central Park and stopped at the Boathouse bar for a drink. The view was so nice and it was a great spot for a break. After that we stopped into my favorite stores, Marlo Laz and Foundrae and I had the best time trying on jewelry.

Day 3 Evening:
After that we went to the famous Bemelmans Bar at the Carlyle hotel and it was the cutest spot ever. I highly recommend! We got a drink at the Mark hotel bar after that and it was also a great spot. We then decided we were hungry for an impromptu dinner and went to Uva which wasn’t too far. I ate there last time I visited and dreamed of their truffle gnocchi. I am so happy I got to go back and order that meal again! The ironic part was that when I looked through my phone at the old photos, they were taken exactly 10 years prior. It was so special to be able to go back to the same spot!

I wore this outfit out and about most of the day and it was comfy but cute for a big day!

Day 4 Day:
We started the day with Apollo Bagels down by the World Trade Center and then saw the 911 memorials. It was honestly really sad seeing all the names, I was definitely tearing up. After that we took a quick subway ride to West Village to get L’Industrie pizza and omg it was the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. The burrata pizza was insane. I wish I could have another slice of it! There was a cute beer spot next door called Talea Beer Co and they let you bring your pizza inside since there isn’t much seating at L’Industrie. After that we walked over to Stafili Wine Cafe and it was the cutest spot with Greek wine.

Day 4 Evening:
We then made our way over to the Empire State building and paid to go to the top. The views were incredible, and even though it was expensive it was a must see. Since we were so close to Times Square and my husband has never been, we walked around Times Square after that. We stopped for a drink at Buchette Del Vino and had a beer in the middle of Times Square, which was pretty cool.

Our dinner reservations were at Omakase by Korami in Hell’s Kitchen (which wasn’t too far) and it was SO good. The price was amazing and the fish was incredibly fresh. At the end, they let us pick our favorites and served us additional courses. It was such an amazing experience. After that we got a drink at the MOMA bar and then headed back to Soho. Once back in Soho we grabbed pizza at Lucia across the street from the hotel and it was really good!

I wore this outfit the entire day and these linen pants were perfect for being comfortable all day long!

Day 5: Travel Home
The last day we got bagels and Blank Street coffee and then took an Uber to LaGuardia airport. It was a really easy ride from the hotel and the airport was not crowded at all. I am so sad to be back because I spent a month really researching for this trip and I am sad it’s over! There’s so many other spots I saved that I want to try, so I am trying to figure out when to go back for another NYC weekend trip!

This is so fun!!
