I just got back from a Newport weekend trip and I spent so much time looking up great spots, so I am going to leave my favorites below! We went to Newport 2 years ago and fell in love with it. We had a great excuse to go back (husband had a work trip) so I was super excited to spend time in one of my favorite places!
If you want to read more about my last trip to Newport, check it out here.
Where To Stay
We flew into Providence and had an easy drive to Newport (less than 1 hour). We stayed at the Brenton Hotel and it is one of my favorite hotels Iβve stayed at! They have a great bar, amazing food and a beautiful rooftop view. The Brenton is in the perfect spot on the water, and walkable to everything. They do have parking if you bring a car.

Where To Eat
Newport has some seriously amazing food, coming from a huge foodie. If you fly into Providence and need an amazing but quick meal before heading to Newport, check out Tommy’s Clam Shack. I loved their lobster roll and fish tacos!
Clarke Cooke House is a classic and a must visit. We got reservations at their skybar and it was so fabulous. Their bar is also a great spot to drink and eat. We loved our meal so much we went the next day for dinner and just sat at the bar.

I wore this classic navy dress to dinner and was obsessed!
Sizing reference: I am 5β4β³ and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms.

The Lawn Terrace at Castle Hill is one of the most iconic spots to eat and drink with the views. I got a caesar salad with lobster on top and it was so good. We also enjoy lobster bisque and clam chowder. I HIGHLY recommend.

I wore this cute coastal outfit to Castle Hill!

Flora at the Gardiner House is incredible. Their outdoor and indoor bar is super cute and great for drinks and if you get a reservation, their food is amazing. We got the clam linguine, fish of the day and raspberry creme brΓ»lΓ©e and it was to die for! We went back the next day just to go to the bar because it was so fabulous.

I wore this linen dress with a sweater over it to dinner!

We had lunch at 22 Bowen and it was fabulous and right in the heart of everything!

The Brenton hotel actually has really good food! We had brunch there on our last day and it was seriously incredible. We also had breakfast at CRU Cafe, which seems like a popular spot but I would not recommend. It was not nearly as good as the breakfast the Brenton.
Where To Drink
My favorite coffee spots are Springline Coffee and Nitro Bar. I prefer Springline, while my husband prefers Nitro Bar.

I wore this comfy outfit to grab coffee. Make sure you stop into Kiel James Patrick and grab a sweatshirt, they are my favorite souvenir!

The Wine Garden at the Chanler hotel (you can walk there if you’re on the other side of town, by the way! We walked from the Benton) was my favorite thing about my entire Newport weekend trip. The views were incredible, the drinks were good and it was so nice to relax on their lawn in the sun. We got chairs under an umbrella and it was the most heavenly 2 hours of my life.

I wore this outfit to the Wine Garden and it was super cute and comfy!

The Vanderbilt hotel is probably one of my favorite spots to grab a drink. The dark and moody interior is just so classy and feels super elegant.

The Black Pearl is a super popular spot in the middle of all the action. We got drinks there several times and the location is great for people watching.
Surf Club is a great spot to grab some drinks and has an amazing outdoor bar.
This was the perfect casual outfit to sit outside and grab some drinks.

What To Do
The Breakers mansion along the Cliffwalk is definitely worth a trip. The self guided audio tour is really good!
The Cliff Walk is such a breathtakingly beautiful walk and an absolute must see during your visit! No Newport weekend trip is complete with doing this activity!

The Tennis Hall of Fame was super impressive. I am not a museum person at all but I LOVED the hall of fame.
I wore this outfit for walking around town and checking out the Hall of Fame. It is the perfect comfy coastal outfit!

There’s a ton of cute shops in Newport and definitely worth spending a few hours perusing!

I wore this outfit to walk around the shops and explore and it was perfect!
