We just got back from Fort Myers, so I wanted to share my Fort Myers travel guide with where to stay and what to eat! I absolutely loved Fort Myers and can’t wait to go back!

Where To Stay
We stayed at the DiamondHead Beach Resort and I highly recommend it! It is right on the water and in a great location with parking available. They have comfy beach chairs and umbrellas available to use all day, which makes the beach much more enjoyable in my opinion. I would 100% stay there again! There’s plenty of restaurants nearby and it’s all walkable too. Our room had the perfect little kitchenette too, if you were staying for a week.
Below is the view from the front of the room. On the back side of our room, there was a screened in porch overlooking the ocean that was absolutely perfect to sit and watch the water without bugs flying in.
Since the hotel is right on the water, it was super easy to walk down to the beach! And no need to deal with the dreaded beach parking at public access points!

Where To Eat
There’s no Starbucks for about 5 miles, so our coffee go to was Tuckaway Cafe. Their lattes are amazing and I recommend the lavender latte! They also serve breakfast as well, that was fantastic!
We had some amazing food in Fort Myers! Coste Island Cuisine was the ultimate date night spot at the hotel. I am already dreaming of going back! The views, food and service were outstanding! My tip is to get dinner before the sunset and then go out to the beach at sunset.
Matanzas On The Bay is a close by spot with amazing views and great food. If you are boating, you can even park your boat there. I got the crunchy grouper with garlic bread and oh my gosh it was incredible. There is a ton of shaded outdoor seating.
Dixie Fish Company is right on the water and had incredible food! I got the grouper sandwich and key lime pie and both were amazing. We even saw a manatee swimming around while we were eating!
This is the view from Dixie Fish Company, such a cute spot!
Sizing reference: I am 5’4″ and typically XS in tops and 25 in bottoms.

What To Do
Beach and chill is the vibe for Fort Myers! There’s plenty of cute spots along the water to grab drinks in the evening as well. Fort Myers is super relaxed, so make plenty of time for sun and good food. You also want to make sure you never miss a sunset, they are incredible! Below are some photos I took at dusk.
I wore this pretty dress to dinner and then to watch the sunset. I can’t get enough of Florida beach sunsets, but this was one of my favorites ever!

One tip I have is to definitely bring your own alcohol and cooler to the beach so that you don’t have to pay hotel prices for drinks all day! We always pack our Yetis so that we can keep drinks cold all day. If you like to run or walk on the beach, the mornings are the perfect quiet time to go! We enjoyed our coffee on the water in the morning and spotted some dolphins!
