Sharing my 2024 recap because I love looking back on these posts! This year went extremely fast, especially with moving from Dallas to Atlanta! This will be my last blog post of the year, so thank you for being here!

2024 Recap – Styledjen
Styledjen turned 7 this year! I honestly cannot believe it, and also can’t believe how much life has changed since I first started. It’s funny how it’s come full circle – I started Styledjen when we first lived in Atlanta and now we are back! In the recent years I have really found a nice balance with my blog. I used to spend 40+ hours per week working on Styledjen and I was running myself into the ground. I am happy I took a step back before I got burned out to the point of no return because I’ve found a really happy middle ground. This blog is my passion and it sounds cheesy, but it really makes life worth living for me.
2024 Recap – Personal Highlights
This year we moved from Dallas to Atlanta, which made half of the year a total blur. Moving is SO hard even though we’ve done it so many times (If you’re new here, I lived in Ohio for most of my life and after college moved to Williamsburg VA, Raleigh NC, Asheville NC, Atlanta GA, Tampa FL, Dallas TX and now Atlanta for the 2nd time). We are finally settled and I am really happy. I miss some things about Dallas, but I think overall Atlanta is a better spot for us. This year didn’t travel much since moving was so stressful. We went to St Pete, Dallas (right after moving lol) and Asheville. We did do lots of day trips up the Georgia wineries and that was so much fun!
One thing I really enjoyed this year was decorating our place. In the past, I have been very lazy with decorating and avoided it because I always told myself I was bad at it. This year I changed my mindset and just tried to curate each space one at a time and I love how everything turned out.
Another highlight, is that I have gotten in the best shape of my life! I have been doing Solidcore and it’s the best workout I have ever done and I am the strongest I’ve ever been!
Social media is definitely a highlight reel. To be honest, this year was pretty awful. I went through some things that were incredibly traumatizing this year and am working really hard to mend myself. I feel like I am slowly climbing out of the hole, but some days are really really hard. This year was so awful that I feel 2025 will be better and I am so optimistic and excited for it.
2025 Resolutions
I used to get awful post holiday blues, I mean awful! I really hated January through March and would get so depressed (especially when I lived in Ohio). Fall is my favorite season so it was always hard for me thinking about how I had to wait a whole 9 months to get to my favorite part of the year. The last several years I have done dry January and that has really helped change my post holiday blues. I now get excited for my January goals and just the overall excitement of a fresh start and feeling healthy. I am really excited to start the new year next week and get back to feeling rested and healthy.
For 2025, I will be doing dry January and February and 100 days of no drinking at home. It’s so easy for me to put a show on Netflix and have a few glasses of wine, and home is where I consume the most alcohol. When I go out, I usually only have 1 drink. So only drinking when I am out can mean just a few drinks per week versus like 8 drinks per week if I am drinking at home. I am really excited for this because as I have gotten older, my sleep gets affected so much from alcohol and it’s just not worth it.
This year I bought a lot less stuff and I want to continue that for 2025. I have gotten to the point where I have honed in on my style a lot and just don’t need as much. I am really proud of myself for breaking a pretty bad shopping habit.
